Baby & Toddler Trends for 2025: Names, Nursery Design, and Must-Have Products

Sleepfull Baby Best Waterproof Baby Crib Sheet + Mattress Protector by Dr. Aubrie aka "Baby Sleep Dr."

As a mom, I always think it’s interesting to keep an eye on what’s new and exciting in the parenting world — and of course, to share what I find with other parents. It’s fun to see what pops up as “trending” in the baby and parenting space, because it can also give a good glimpse into broader social trends, which I find fascinating.

Parenting comes with SO. MANY. DECISIONS — whether it’s figuring out the perfect baby name, designing a nursery that feels both functional and cozy, or sifting through the enormous sea of recommendations and advice on what products you “must get” to find what you actually will ned and use. I’m a big fan of less is more when it comes to nursery and products, and I also remember how it felt to be a first-time mom trying to decipher the best way to make these decisions.

All that to say that I went through tons of trend prediction content and picked out what I think would be the most useful to those in my Sleepfull Parenting Circle and rounded them up for you below!

2025 is definitely the year of focusing on design and products that serve more than one purpose, save time and space, and help make your life easier - which we love! Now, let’s get into it…

Trending Baby Names for 2025

Choosing a baby name is one of the first big decisions you’ll make as a parent, and it can feel like a lot of pressure! But don’t worry—I’ve done the research and rounded up the baby names that are becoming popular this year so you can either gain some inspiration and ideas OR steer clear if you’re looking to be super unique. But, whether you’re into nature-inspired picks, vintage classics, or gender-neutral options, I picked a little something for everyone out of the names I was seeing. Also - many of these names are gender-neutral, which I love! So you could definitely make one more unique by choosing from the opposite list…

Top Baby Nursery Design Trends for 2025

Designing your baby’s nursery is such a special part of preparing for their arrival. It’s where you’ll spend countless hours rocking, feeding, and soaking up those sweet newborn snuggles. And in 2025, I’m finding that nursery design is stepping it up with an emphasis on practical things that make baby life easier while also choosing elements that are soothing and beautiful.

Here are the top 10 trends I really like for this year:

  1. Bold Color Palettes: Less “sad beige life” and more forest greens, burnt oranges, and navy blues. The reason I like this is because it allows more room for personal style and preference to show through — rich tones like that are cozy and stylish, but still muted enough that the room can feel soothing and inviting (we don’t want crazy, overstimulating palettes and patterns for the sleep environment).

  2. Nature-Inspired Themes: Lots of botanical wallpapers and rattan furniture going on here, which feels really close to nature. There’s also lots of space to add in other natural elements like plants (high enough they can’t reach and no where they would fall), natural woods, water elements, etc. Things like this feel really grounding and soothing to me!

  3. Multifunctional Furniture: THIS. Convertible cribs, dressers with changing tops (always strap your baby into their changing pad and never step away from a baby on a dresser), and rockers that transition to regular chairs are practical ways to maximize smaller spaces and save money in the long run.

  4. Vintage Charm: I see lots of tufted gliders, antique-inspired cribs, and timeless wallpaper patterns that bring an heirloom feel to the nursery. But it’s also important to note that trends are just that - so do your best to choose pieces that can really have longevity through the years up into a little kid bedroom so you’re not redesigning the room over and over.

  5. Personalized Decor: I’m not sure if I’m alone in this, but I love personalized items — to a degree, of course. Name signs, monogrammed blankets, or custom artwork can be great touches that make the room uniquely yours.

  6. Playful Lighting: I think statement pieces like cloud chandeliers or animal-shaped lamps are so cute to add a whimsical vibe to nurseries. When I think of something dreamy, I think lighting plays such a huge role - especially during the bedtime routine. I love creating a space that feels safe, warm, and magical.

  7. Sustainable Materials: Eco-friendly furniture, organic textiles, and non-toxic paints are becoming easier to find these days and if you’re one to care about sustainability, it’s definitely something you can make happen! Even simpler things like shopping second-hand or hand-me-down items (as long as they’re safe and not expired) are a great way to be eco-friendly and help the planet.

  8. Gender-Neutral Designs: Lots of parents are skipping the traditional pinks and blues and going with various tones of greens, yellows, and taupes — although this may not be a “new” trend for 2025, it’s still a big trend (and I can see why!). It’s definitely easier and more cost-effective to update things like pillows and small decor rather than paint and larger furniture.

  9. Interactive Walls: Chalkboard paint, sensory panels, or even gallery walls for baby’s first art projects—walls are becoming part of the fun. Personally, I would recommend this more for a playroom if you have one, as you might guess given my expertise in sleep — BUT there is definitely a way to keep stimulation to a minimum while keeping the fun.

  10. More Interesting Design Elements: Art canvases with a pop of color, more unique furniture, all-over wallpaper, vintage pieces & heirlooms that stand out — I think with the realization that personal style has largely gone out the window with social media and “aspirational influencers,” people are veering back toward including items that speak to them and make them happy. Items that don’t mimic what every other person is doing — and I absolutely LOVE that.

Top Baby & Toddler Products & Gear of 2025

One of my favorite things about parenting in 2025? The products are smarter, more versatile, and designed to make life easier for everyone. This year, the standout trend is all about multifunctionality—products that cover multiple bases and give you more bang for your buck.

Here are the must-haves for this year:

  1. Sleepfull 2-in-1 Waterproof Crib Sheet & Mattress Protector: Ok, so I may be biased because it’s my first product ever and I’m just about to launch it (if you’re reading this, you are getting a first look before I even announce it!!), but I really do think it’s a product you will LOVE and appreciate. This double-duty fitted sheet is 100% waterproof, so it completely replaces the need to get a mattress protector and fits standard-size crib mattresses and toddler bed mattresses. And did I mention it’s BUTTERY SOFT? I chose the most sustainable and eco-friendly eucalyptus fabric called Tencel — not only is it softer than bamboo fabric, but it’s also hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, moisture-wicking, and passes all the highest safety standards.

  2. LatchLight: This is one that I anticipate will be a huge “must-have” registry item in 2025. It’s a game-changer for nighttime feedings and diaper changes. It’s a wearable night light that clips onto your shirt to give just the right amount of light to be able to see your baby’s latch to breast, or where the bottle is, or exactly what you’re doing during a middle-of-night diaper change without waking everyone up.

  3. Convertible Car Seats: Rotating car seats like the Nuna REVV are simplifying getting kids in and out of the car while keeping them safe - now seriously where has this been all my life?! There’s also a huge shift to car seats that have a super easy latch system which make it SO easy to take the car seat in an out of the car and has literally changed my life!

  4. Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair: This high chair can grow with your child from the newborn stage in a recliner that allows them to “sit” with you at the table, to a regular high chair when your little one can sit up and start eating, all the way to a toddler chair and beyond. Again, this shift to products that take you through many stages of your child’s life with one purchase is huge.

  5. Elvie Rise Smart Bouncer & Bassinet: Ok now this one is HUGE - so listen up parents with a baby on the way (or know someone with a baby on the way!). This just launched and is a two-in-one product that combines a soothing bouncer with a safe sleep space. Your little one can spend awake time strapped into the rocker functionality (and even mimics your personal rocking style), then when you see your baby falling asleep - no need to move them. That’s right, I said it! With the push of a button, the straps come undone, the rocker transforms into a lay-flat bassinet, and your baby stays asleep without you having to lift a finger. I was lucky enough to be able to test this product before it was launched and it blew my socks off — as a mom, a baby sleep expert, and safe sleep proponent. This is like back to the future, but not…

  6. Stroller Wagon Hybrids: These all-terrain products, like the Veer Cruiser or WonderFold Wagon, are awesome for everything from trips to the park to big family outings. They combine the comfort and functionality of a stroller with the spaciousness of a wagon, making them perfect for hauling kids and gear.

  7. Babyzen YOYO2 Stroller: This one has lots of cool features — it’s lightweight, compact, small enough to fit in an overhead bin on a plane, can take you from the newborn phase to the toddler phase with various attachments, and can be worn over the shoulder like a purse, almost!

  8. The NoseFrida: So I’m a big fan of the cult favorite “snot sucker” from Frida, and this one does the same thing, but does not require lung power (it’s harder than it looks tto suck that snot!). My only recommendation is to get them used to it when they’re little, because trying it on a toddler for the first time could end up in a battle you don’t win…

  9. Convertible Baby Carriers: Keeping strong with the trend of longevity — baby carriers that grow with your child, like the Ergobaby Omni 360, are growing in popularity. I’ve used the Ergobaby with my babies and it’s a great product. These newer carriers offer multiple wearing positions, adjustable straps, and support for newborns through toddlers, giving you years of hands-free convenience.

  10. Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro: I haven’t personally used this product, but I have been personally victimized by cleaning bottles and pump parts, so this feels like a big win! It automatically washes, sterilizes & dries bottles, pump parts, sippy cups and accessories inside and out with the push of a button — and the time and energy saved here is something you can’t put a price on.

If there’s one thing that stands out about 2025, it’s that parents are looking for ways to simplify their lives while keeping things thoughtful and intentional. From nursery designs that grow with your baby to products that multitask for you, there’s a clear shift toward practicality without sacrificing style or comfort.

Whether you’re in the thick of setting up a nursery, shopping for a baby shower, or just curious about what’s trending, I hope this roundup helps you feel inspired and informed. And remember, trends are fun, but ultimately, the best choices are the ones that work for you and your family.

Here’s to making 2025 a little easier, a little cozier, and a lot more joyful for parents and little ones everywhere!
